The yard was covered in rubbish and broken glass, and on one of the rubbish bags lay what appeared to be a bundle of rags but which was in fact, an Afghan Hound. His coat was so matted that he was almost unrecognisable as a dog, and he was so weak, he barely had the strength to lift his head when Lesley approached.
